September Highlights

-by Mom

After an adventure-filled summer in West Virginia and five-weeks in Michigan, it was time to set off for home. But first, a trip to Olivet. I arrived at Hempelonia for Labor Day weekend.

Welcome to Olivet, Michigan!

On Friday, September 4th, Aunt Melody & Uncle Jim came to visit. On Saturday, September 5th, Nana, Aunt Marybeth and I went to Stephanie & Tanner’s wedding in Battle Creek. We got all dressed up! Then on Sunday, Kenneth and his mom came to visit. We all jumped in the pond, but I decided to take the boat out and got very wet, so I just jumped into the pond in my underwear.

All dressed up!

On our way home, we visited Hillsdale and saw where I went to college.

Then we stopped in Grove City. We went to the old park on Stewart Avenue and met Grace, Reed, and Garrett. Do you remember all the afternoons we spent at this park? It was fun to remember our time in Grove City, but it was time to get home and get started with MIDDLE SCHOOL! We call our homeschool, the Two Wolves Academy.

September 14th began our first full week of school

Welcome to our class!

Since 2020 has been a pandemic year, we knew that it wasn't going to be like a normal homeschool year, but we tried to make the best of it. First, we set up an office in the house and Asha got a new computer. Asha started running with a new Girls on the Run team called "Heart and Sole" in Baker Park.

September 18th, Asha met with Kiera and Annika at the Frederick Coffee Co. (Girls from the Middle School Girls Social Club.)

Asha and Tom Sawyer at home.

Sometimes we take things outside.

September 20th began our second full week of school

Asha got braces on September 22nd, 2020!

Now with braces!

September 23rd, Kayb, Quinn, and Albie visited us.

    • We toured Frederick

    • We met Vinson at Roosevelt Island. We hiked and had a picnic, then watched planes land at the airport.

    • We went to the Museum of the Bible and biked around Washington DC. There was a rally going on. We saw the president’s helicopters fly overhead.
